The UV-4B blacklight lamp is a small, low-pressure, mercury-vapor discharge lamp crafted from double-bore material with both electrodes located at one end. Its handheld and portable nature makes it convenient for various uses, including the identification of green fluorescent protein (GFP). When GFP is present in cells or cell extracts, it fluoresces in a vivid green color, making the UV-4B blacklight lamp an effective tool for such applications.
